The purpose of my product is to provide a way for people living in apartments to grow their own fruits and vegetables at home on their balconies. With the current cost of living crisis and shortage of affordable food at supermarkets like Coles and Woolworths, many Australians have been unable to afford fruit and vegetables which are essential in maintaining a healthy and balanced diet. My product aims to provide people of low socio-economic status, old people who may not be able to go shopping regularly and anyone living in housing without garden space with a way to grow fruit and vegetables easily and affordably at home, helping them be able to maintain a healthy diet affordably. My product will include an adjustable handle which can be altered to fit any sized balcony railing or windowsill. It will contain two boxes, with one on each side of the balcony railing. Both of these boxes will be adjustable, so they can easily be adapted to different sized balconies, and so they can be packed up and stored easily. Each box will also have clips at the bottom, so that the end user can attach another box to the bottom, to maximize the amount of produce they wish to grow.
