Heidelberg Soccer Clubrooms and Branding

My client is the Heidelberg United Football Club (HUFC), who are a local soccer team and a founding member of the National Soccer League, now known as the National Premier Leagues. HUFC have both a senior men and women’s team, who compete against other soccer clubs in Victoria. Heidelberg United Football Club is located in the original Olympic Village for the 1956 Melbourne Olympics in Heidelberg. The club aims to foster a culture of inclusivity and competitiveness. Heidelberg United has received a total of 11.8 million dollars from the Banyule City Council and the Victorian government to help redevelop the Olympic Park. This includes developing two new carparks, three synthetic pitches, updating the grandstand on the main pitch and implementing cricket nets on the far cricket oval. However, the club has approached me to design the soccer clubrooms and canteen area. The club wishes for this area to also include a social area near the canteen where fans can sit and enjoy their food. In addition, Heidelberg United’s current identity is outdated, with it last being updated in 1996.

The club requires a new branding design, which draws on the history and culture of the club and redesign their clubrooms and canteen area.

Communication Need 1

Communication Need 2

A new design for their clubrooms and canteen area, which caters for the needs of players and spectators.
