For my VCE Units 3 & 4 Media product, I intended to create a fun and informative piano practice vlog that highlighted the intricacies of practicing a musical instrument. Not only did I want to display my learning processes, but also the technical and artistic considerations that go into music as a subjective artform. Whilst the vlog does discuss different musical concepts in varying detail, I attempted to narrate the product in a comprehendible way so that anyone, regardless of musical background, could enjoy the video. To achieve this, I made use of codes and conventions that are typical of the YouTube vlog genre, these included close-up camera shots, the absence of a formal script and on-screen edits to further assist in audience engagement. Ultimately, my goal with this project is simply to share the joy of music making with an audience.
